Ingredients
- olive or coconut oil
- 2 egg shites
- 2 cups raw or roated almonds
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons curry powder
- 1 Talbespoon ground cumin
- 1 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom OR cinnamon & nutmeg or ginger or ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Place an oven rack in center of oven. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Coat a baking sheet with oil. Set aside.
- In large bowl whisk the egg whites until frothy. Add the nuts & stir until coated.
- In small bowl combine the sugar, curry powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, cardamom & cinnamon. Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the nuts & toss until coated. Arrange the nuts in a single layer on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 45 minutes until golden & fragrant. Cool for 1 hour.
- Using a metal spatual remove the nuts from the baking sheet. Break the nuts into bite sized pieces & place in serving bowls.
